The Sound of the San Diego Tridentine Latin Mass
Choir
Under
the direction of Vita LaFond the San Diego Tridentine Latin Mass Choir
is committed to encouraging the study, appreciation and use in Divine Worship
of the traditional music of the Latin Rite including particularly Gregorian
chant and sacred polyphony. Typically, the San Diego Tridentine Latin Mass
Choir consists of twenty voices, fifteen female and five male with organ
accompaniment. The Choir always is looking for new voices. Prior
experience is not required but is most welcome.
Each Sunday, and on special occasions, the Choir provides the liturgical
music for High Masses offered at Holy Cross Chapel. Masses composed by
Palestrina, Rossini, Mozart, Gonoud and others are performed.
